The Best Dressed Stars of the Week Delivered Drama—Both Subtle and Bold

The Hollywood red carpets are always a place for stars to bring the fashion drama. But that can look a variety of ways—with designs featuring either subtle or bold finishing touches. This week, the best dressed stars on the step and repeat favored both approaches, choosing looks that made a statement with unexpected tailoring, impactful colors, and eye-catching prints. Some looks screamed statement dressing, while others invited you to lean in closer to truly appreciate the details.

In Los Angeles, Wicked stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande continued their press tour with a more maximal sensibility. Erivo shined in her Elphaba-green Louis Vuitton gown with a feathered stole, while Grande went sweet in Glinda pink, via a gingham Thom Browe panier-skirt cocktail dress (cape included). In England, Tyla also embraced OTT dressing with a zebra-printed Roberto Cavalli dress with a fringed hemline; a new recreation of the same Cavalli dress that Aaliyah famously wore to the 2000 VMAs. Another star on board with a bold print this week? Saoirse Ronan, who stepped out at the Jimmy Fallon show wearing a sequin camo-printed Versace dress. Camo-chic!

Other A-listers, meanwhile, chose looks that delivered a more stealthily-chic end result. At the Landman premiere in London, Demi Moore opted for an Erdem skirt suit with an abstract floral print. In Rome, Lashana Lynch proved she has the coolest maternity style of the moment with her navy Moschino cutout dress.

And then there was Rihanna, who is forever in a fashion league of her own. The Fenty Beauty founder attended an event in Barbados wearing a billowy, ruffled Zimmermann dress—a boho-chic look that only someone like Riri could pull off effortlessly.
