The Best Dressed Stars of the Week Zeroed In on Glamorous Gowns

If there is ever a time for glamorous gowns to shine, it’s the holiday season: a festive spirit is in the air, and the celebratory parties are in full swing, after all. This week, the best dressed celebrities certainly embraced the feeling of the month, choosing glitzy gala looks that were ready for any grand bash. Whether it was custom couture or archival gems (see: Olivia Rodrigo in her perfect archival Mugler LBD), these frocks felt fresh. Not to mention, totally fitting for an A-lister.

In London, Emma Corrin delivered haunting beauty in her gauzy, sheer McQueen gown at the Nosferatu premiere—a more romantic take on the naked dress trend. Kate Middleton also chose Alexander McQueen while attending carol service at the Westminster Abbey—though her tailored red overcoat was decidedly more covered up, and certainly more festive thanks to its tartan detailing. Another great coat moment this week? That goes to Sabrina Carpenter in her fuzzy vintage Chanel coat—the cozy black and white shearling was like the high-fashion equivalent of a teddy bear.

Sculptural silhouettes were also trending these past few days. At the FNAAs in New York City, Rihanna chose a zipped-up white Alaïa gown (with a seriously epic updo, no less). In Saudi Arabia, Michelle Yeoh attended the Red Sea International Film Festival wearing a black Balenciaga gown with a voluminous, asymmetrical neckline. A strong shape fit for a Hollywood legend.
