The Christian Center has upgraded sports facilities just in time for baseball season
PEORIA (25News Now) – Build Peoria has completed the renovations for the baseball facilities at the Christian Center in Peoria.
Last spring, Build Peoria announced that the next community project for 2023-24 will be improving the baseball facilities at the Christian Center.
The work was completed on Saturday- just in time for baseball season, where four games were held in the field.
President and Founder of Build Peoria, Nick Yates, this was a seven month long project.
“As you can see behind us we have four new dugouts, as well as the two new scoreboards in the outfield. You can see the two new scoreboards are new age, digital scoreboards, In addition, we also have the baseball batting cages,” he said.
Yates also announced that the Friendship House will be the benefactor for the 2024-25 project.
Build Peoria is revamping the block that is next to the nonprofit with an outside fitness center and an area for kids to play.
