The Conscious Travel Foundation launches online auction
The Conscious Travel Foundation launches an online charity auction to support sustainable travel projects worldwide, offering global travel experiences and helping grassroots initiatives.
LONDON – The Conscious Travel Foundation, the non-profit membership organisation that promotes sustainable, positive impact travel announced the launch of its much-anticipated online charity auction. The online auction launches ahead of a now sold-out fundraising event which will take place at The Lanesborough, London on November 21st, supported by Oetker Collection, SUJÁN and ÀNI Private Resorts.
The online auction is open to everyone and offers bidders the opportunity to win an array of travel prizes and experiences around the globe while helping to raise money for the Foundation’s Community Impact Fund. The fund supports grassroots projects around the world through its grant-making programme, and aids the Foundation’s mission for change in travel through education, collaboration and thought leadership.
A recipient of the 2023/24 Community Impact Fund is the Phaplu Mountain Bike Club in Solukhombu, Nepal, a non-profit community founded by Phaplu local and owner of Beyul Experiences and The Happy House, Ang Tshering Lama. The club’s mission is to develop new economic opportunities through tourism for the youth of the Nepalese Himalayas and is working towards building a new mountain biking industry in the region, with long-lasting economic and social benefits for the remote rural community. The Community Impact Fund is being invested in building a new centre, providing training for Phaplu’s mountain biking community professionals and helping them work towards introducing Phaplu as “the destination” for mountain bikers from around the globe.
Olivia Cryer, founder of The Conscious Travel Foundation said: “Philanthropy is one of the key pillars of The Conscious Travel Foundation to support projects linked to tourism that make a tangible difference to local communities and the environment.
We’re so grateful to our members and friends for donating such an incredible array of prizes. It means so much that they believe in what we are doing and that our work has inspired such generosity in support of our community-driven philanthropy programme.”
The online auction will run from Friday 18th October and will close at 5pm on Thursday 21st November, ahead of the live Fundraising Auction where a hand-picked selection of prizes will be auctioned on the night.
Participants can browse the full range of prizes and place their bids by visiting the Auction Site. Bidding is open to everyone, and those interested are encouraged to bid and share with their friends, clients and wider networks.
