The die is cast: Swiss company bringing 350 jobs to Augusta area. Here’s what it makes.
A Swiss maker of lightweight components for autos, energy and aerospace is bringing 350 new jobs to Augusta.
GF Casting Solutions AG plans to invest more than $184 million in a new manufacturing facility in Augusta. Operations are expected to begin in 2027.
The LEED-certified facility at Augusta Corporate Park will produce cast aluminum parts, particularly “large structural components for the automotive industry,” the company said.
GF Casting Solutions has production sites in five countries. The company die-casts aluminum, magnesium, iron and super alloy to fashion parts for light vehicles, trucks, aerospace, energy, off-highway vehicles and industrial applications.
GF Casting is a world leader in producing battery housings for both conventional and electronic vehicles.

In 2022, local, state, federal and German officials broke ground on a $340 million copper recycling and smelting plant that produces copper sheets for parts manufacturers.
“I am truly excited to see the second, large European investment in the Augusta Corporate Park,” Augusta Mayor Garnett Johnson said in a statement released Friday. “The city and the development authority have worked to make this a premier industrial park in the southeast United States with our investment in water, sewer, roads and growing our workforce.”
GF Casting Solutions President Carlos Vasto called the Augusta location “ideal for addressing the thriving automotive industry in the region.”
