The Exorcist at the Strand: “What an excellent day for an exorcism”
VICKSBURG, MS – The Strand Theatre will feature the 1973 horror classic, The Exorcist this Saturday, October 12, starting at 7 p.m.
Released in 1973, The Exorcist is a horror film directed by William Friedkin and based on the 1971 novel by William Peter Blatty. The movie tells the story of a young girl, Regan, who becomes possessed by a demonic force, and the two priests who attempt to exorcise the entity. Starring Linda Blair, Ellen Burstyn, and Max von Sydow, The Exorcist became known for its shocking and graphic content, pushing the boundaries of the horror genre. It earned 10 Academy Award nominations and became a cultural phenomenon, widely regarded as one of the greatest horror films of all time.
Advance tickets are $9 at the Highway 61 Coffeehouse and tickets at the door will be $10. Popcorn is free. The Strand Theatre is located in downtown Vicksburg at 717 Clay Street.
