GLENROCK, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) – With the Fourth of July holiday just a couple days away, the fireworks business is booming.

Gabe Douglas is the manager of Wholesale Fireworks located off I-25 on Deer Creek Road in Glenrock. He explains, “It is our busiest season. We have a lot of people who are excited about celebrating the Fourth of July, and for most of them the Fourth of July is synonymous with fireworks.”

Leading up to the Fourth, Wholesale Fireworks stays busy with customers preparing for their holiday celebrations.

For many, the Fourth of July is a family affair, and staff say they see many generations of folks come into the store. Regardless of their age, fireworks often spark a sense of childhood wonder.

Douglas says, “What we see from our customers is an understated sense of excitement, a lot of nostalgia. People talk about what they shot off in terms of fireworks when they were young, they ask for those things they remember: Sparklers, firecrackers, Black Cats, things like that. I think for many people it’s a tangible way to express their excitement for this great holiday.”

If you’re looking for a way to light off your own fireworks this holiday, the Glenrock and Converse County Fire Departments have you covered.

The joint-department annual fireworks event aims to help families celebrate safely by providing some expertise and back-up if necessary.

The event will be hosted both July 4 and 5 at the Glenrock South Recreation Complex from 7 pm till midnight.

This is a BYOF event: Bring your own fireworks.
