The holiday travel rush continues

We may be past Christmas and Thanksgiving, but the holiday travel season continues with high numbers of travelers on the roadways and in the sky.

AAA predicts that more than 119,000 people will travel sometime between December 22 and New Year’s Day.

“Most people will be traveling by car, leading to congested roadways. It’s going to be busy out on the roadways. With that in mind, leave as early as you can leave in some of those non-peak time periods.”

Morgan Dean, AAA Spokesperson

AAA suggests motorists get on the road before peak travel times. For this week, that means being out the door before 2 p.m. Friday and before 11 a.m. on Saturday.

AAA stresses drivers to observe posted speed limits, and to not engage with aggressive drivers.
