The Mirage hosted a hiring event for the property’s more than 3,000 employees before the resort closes on July 17 and renovations begin to transform the hotel and casino into The Hard Rock Las Vegas.

The Mirage hosted the fourth of five job fairs over the last week for staff inside the grand ballroom.

“We have a responsibility to take care of the people who are working with us every day,” Jamie Stratton, senior vice president of human resources at The Mirage, said. “For those who want to find new employment, it’s important for us to create those opportunities and to help people network.”

The Mirage was opened in 1989 by former casino mogul Steve Wynn. There are 140 team members who are “Day One” employees. Wynn sold the property to MGM Resorts International in 2000, and Hard Rock International bought it in 2022. The property is planned to undergo a renovation and construction project, with an expected reopening in 2027 as The Hard Rock Las Vegas.

Citywide businesses, including The Venetian, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, Resorts World, Fontainebleau, and Caesars Entertainment, set up tables for the event on Wednesday. Employees could ask for information, potentially get interviewed on-site, and receive a job offer.

Mirage management said operations will continue as normal until the resort closes on July 17.
