The new Helldivers 2 Mech is dividing players

The Helldivers 2 community recently unlocked a brand new Stratagem for completing the latest Major Order. This new Stratagem is the Emancipator Exosuit Mech which is the second one that we’ve seen in the game. Like the first one, it is a large robot that has powerful weaponry that you can use to take down the enemy. Unfortunately, most people don’t like them, as is already the case with the new Emancipator, but not everything dislikes them.

U/Gold_Pay_227 took to Reddit to praise the new Emancipator Mech, but not everyone agreed and it has divided opinions.

“It’s so fun to use! I thought everybody else would feel the same, but then I made the mistake of opening Reddit. I don’t get why people are complaining.”

Many people are enjoying the Mech, but have their criticisms of it, including u/Zandmand who said “Its fun but it might need a better aiming system. Mostly fun though.” U/Elitericky also makes a good point that “Once it’s no longer a free stratagem you will hardly see it around,” which is the case for many of the recent Stratagems, when was the last time that you saw an Airburst Rocket Launcher being used?

U/Speculus56 made a good point as to why the Mechs aren’t popular, highlighting the limited ammo and long cooldown between uses saying “The only problem with mechs is that they are too underpowered to justify 10 min cooldown AND limited use. This worked in the first game because there were no time limits and you could repair and keep using them till they ran out of ammo, it did not translate well to the second game though. Remove the limited uses OR the long cooldown and it can be a decent support Stratagem. A sort of mobile use-and-forget version of the stationary HMG we already got that can be used during heavy outpost pushes, or taking fire off of your teammates during a hectic firefight by suppressing enemies from range (talking purely about bot front here) since its already inaccurate.”

With some tweaks, I think the Mechs could be a lot of fun to use, but I do agree with much of the criticism and never find myself opting to use one.
