Welcome to the Week in Fashion, Bazaar’s at-a-glance guide to what the industry is talking about.

Bella Hadid Becomes the New Face of Saint Laurent

Bella Hadid is officially the new face of Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello.

The model appeared in her first-ever campaign for the house earlier this week to promote their Fall 2024 collection. In a sultry photo shot by Gray Sorrenti, Hadid is seen sprawled across a baby pink bedspread, where she sports a white ribbed, see-through minidress featuring a frilly lace hem at the top and a thick black belt cinching her waist. Next to her lies a giant brown fur coat, which may not seem appealing in this weather, but will be the perfect statement piece once fall rolls around.

This union with Saint Laurent might not come as a huge surprise to Hadid fans, who may recall that the Orebella founder wore the French fashion label to the Cannes Film Festival back in May. Other celebrities in the Fall ’24 campaign include Dominic Sessa, Penelope Ternes, Rosé Park, Liu Wen, Frederic Bittner, and Kiko Mizuhara.

For the first time in the house’s history, the fine jewelry brand Van Cleef & Arpels has chronicled its archive in two gorgeous new volumes, the first of which went on sale June 24.

In this art book, readers dive into nearly 700 jewels, precious objects, and watchmaking pieces, as well as 200 archival documents, all of which illustrate the context through which Van Cleef & Arpels became a leader in the industry throughout the early 20th century.

The tome is broken up into three parts: “The creative boom (1906 – 1925),” “A unique identity (1926 – 1937),” and “From Paris to New York (1938 – 1953),” with these chapters providing colorful imagery of the maison’s designs, as well as insider details into the craft-making and creative process. You can purchase the book now at the MoMA Design Store.

The Collina Strada x BAGGU Collab Adds a Little Whimsy to Your Everyday Bag

Collina Strada / Baggu

New York-based fashion label Collina Strada is beloved by many for their watercolor-like designs that favor sustainability, thanks to their use of deadstock fabrics and recycled materials. Now, the hip fashion brand has collaborated with another popular label, the eco-conscious BAGGU, for a new line of bags that transform everyday accessories into something a little more whimsical (and still friendly to the environment).

The collection, which launched on June 25, features an eclectic mix of bags—from crescent shoulder bags to crossbody bags in the shape of a horse (plus a few other items for good measure, including a pop-up tent, picnic blanket, and bath towel).

All of the pieces feature BAGGU’s functionality, while being decorated with the psychedelic prints and plaids that are signature to Collina Strada. You can shop the full collection here.

Hamptons Dwellers Get a New Speedster-Themed Shopping Experience

After a successful collaboration in 2023, the lifestyle company Flamingo Estate and luxury shopping brand Mytheresa have teamed up again for a pop-up experience in East Hampton called the “Railroad Racetrack.”

Open now through August 18th, the experiential space was inspired by the railroad history at the shop’s home on 9 Railroad Ave, and visitors can expect fitting design details, from a racetrack garden to Porsche automobiles parked outside.

Of course, besides the thematic décor, the “Railroad Racetrack” will also feature an “Inconvenience Store” of apothecary and pantry goods from Flamingo Estate, as well luxury clothing items, accessories, and fine jewelry from Mytheresa, courtesy of brands like Khaite, Valentino, Dries Van Noten, and more. You can visit Thursday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST.

In 2023, Great Jones Distilling Co.—aka Manhattan’s only whiskey distillery—dropped a trio of bottles that were decorated with the work of the one of the city’s most-celebrated artists: Jean-Michel Basquiat.

Now, a new limited-edition release, called the “Empire Edition,” has gone on sale at Great Jones, and the custom bottle features Basquiat’s iconic Mecca (1982) artwork, which depicts the New York City skyline in only the way Basquiat could.

To coincide with the release, fashion and lifestyle brand Rome Pays Off also crafted a capsule of limited-edition apparel that incorporates the Mecca artwork and Basquiat’s trademark crown onto a hoodie, bucket hat, and T-shirt. Talk about a fusion of some of New York’s best.
