The World Sailing Show delivers 30-minute episodes which feature news, profiles, and racing highlights from across the world of sailing. The September 2024 episode heads to Barcelona as the fleet of challengers battle it out at the Louis Vuitton Cup to see which will take on defenders Emirates Team New Zealand for the 37th America’s Cup.

Barcelona is also hosting the Youth and Women’s America’s Cup, and the World Sailing Show meets both crews of Andoo Team Australia as they prepare to race against 11 other nations in their AC40s.

With limited time on the water in Barcelona before racing begins, they spent a lot of time in Australia training on a simulator getting to grips with the course and the new boats The Youth America’s Cup is already underway, while the Women’s America’s Cup gets underway at the start of October.

Elsewhere, a spectacular fleet of 13 boats from nine nations arrived in Puerto Portals, Mallorca, for the penultimate round of the 2024 52 Super Series. After a week of alternating winds and winners, the title would come down to a three-way battle on the final day. Just one race was possible due to a delayed start, meaning there would be no room for error.

The 34th edition of the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup brought together a fleet of 40 Maxis at the Costa Smeralda Yacht Club in Sardinia. This year saw the addition of the Rolex IMA Maxi One World Championship, reserved for the fastest Maxis. There was exhilarating coastal racing in all classes, but it was the Farr 100 LEOPARD 3 celebrating at the end after becoming the inaugural World Champion.

Nine teams took part in this year’s 44Cup World Championship on Lake Lucerne in Switzerland where challenging conditions definitely did not dampen spirits. Going into the final round, eight of the nine teams had claimed round honors meaning tension was rising ahead of the deciding races.

There is also a recap of all the news from across the sailing world, including the season opener of the GKA Freestyle Kite World Cup in Dunkerque, the iQFOiL International Games and U23 World Championships on Lake Silvaplana where strong winds meant there would be plenty of high octane racing, and the Kite Foil World Series which kicked off its new season in Austria.

Finally, this year’s World Sailing Awards will be held in Singapore on November 5 where the best and brightest in the sport will gather to celebrate a year of achievement. Alongside the Rolex World Sailor of the Year awards and 11th Hour Racing Sustainability Award, the new Young Sailor of the Year award and World Sailing Technology Award will be presented.
