The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025 embraces la dolce vita in Italy

Turin and Piedmont to host the global gastronomic celebrations on 19 June 2025

For the first time ever, The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna, is heading to Italy. Renowned for its food, wine, culture and architectural beauty, the city of Turin, in Italy’s Piedmont region, will host the biggest global gastronomic celebration in June 2025.

An extensive event programme – backed by 50 Best’s host partners, the City of Turin and Piedmont Region – will come to a crescendo with the much-anticipated awards ceremony on Thursday 19 June, when The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025 ranking will be revealed. The inimitably elegant Turin, a much sought-after destination for its unique blend of art, culture, world-class ingredients and elevated dining experiences, is the perfect place to host the awards.

Located in the north-west of Italy, Piedmont is a region fringed by the Alps, rich in natural beauty, art and culture, but also in ingenuity and creativity – it’s the heartland of the Italian automotive industry. Thanks to its unique history and outstanding natural heritage – lakes, hills and mountains – Piedmont is a perfect destination to enjoy in all seasons. The region is home to five UNESCO World Heritage sites, including the Savoy Royal Residences.

The Piedmont region is home to many ‘Made in Italy’ products

Piedmont is a great destination for international gourmets. Visitors can enjoy the friendly atmosphere of the trattorias, historical cafés or restaurants throughout the region and savour the outstanding quality of true stars of the table, like the Alba white truffle, typical pasta like tajarin and agnolotti del plin, plus rice, chocolate, hazelnuts and a great family of PDO artisanal cheeses, not to mention the 19 DOCG and 41 DOC certified wines.

Highlights for the programme in Turin and Piedmont will include a series of key events which have become the foundation of 50 Best Restaurants celebrations: thought-leadership forum #50BestTalks, exploring some of the most pertinent topics affecting the hospitality world today; the 50 Best Signature Sessions series of collaborative dining events open to the public, which sees 50 Best chefs cooking alongside renowned local talent for exclusive once-in-a-lifetime dining opportunities; a Chefs’ Feast showcasing the finest quality ingredients and cooking techniques the region is known for; and of course, the awards ceremony and countdown.

The list of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025, will once again be the result of the votes of more than 1,000 anonymous global culinary experts, who will each select their 10 favourite gastronomic experiences of the previous 18 months. With the voting and results independently adjudicated by Deloitte, the ranking has come to represent the most prestigious accolade for the world’s leading hospitality venues.

The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024 event, held in Las Vegas, US, saw Disfrutar in Barcelona named The World’s Best Restaurant. Disfrutar will join the Best of the Best list of former No.1 restaurants, and therefore will not be eligible to appear in the ranking for 2025 and beyond.

Save the date – Thursday 19 June 2025 – in your calendar, to make sure you don’t miss the reveal of the best dining destinations across the world.
