Santa’s Rock N Lights

Friday night: Drive through colorful holiday lights at Living History Farms, 11121 Hickman Road, Urbandale, through Dec. 31. Take a ride through the historical site at various times daily. Pick up tickets for Santa’s Rock N Lights for $29.99 per vehicle in advance online to reserve a time and date.

Jolly Holiday Lights

Friday night: Take a spin through the Jolly Holiday Lights in its new location at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, 3000 E. Grand Ave., Des Moines. For $20 per car or $50 per bus or limo, drive through this winter wonderland filled with large-scale holiday light displays from 5:30 to 9 p.m. daily through Jan. 4.

Disney ‘Beauty and the Beast’

Friday night: This Disney tale brings together Belle, who wants some adventure in her life, and the Beast, a prince trapped in the form of beast, at 7 p.m. Can Belle see beyond his outward appearance and love him in return to break the spell? Disney “Beauty and the Beast” takes the stage during an extended run at the Des Moines Community Playhouse, 831 42nd St., Des Moines. Tickets start at $29 through Dec. 29.

‘Voix de Ville’: A Noce Folly from Max Wellman

Friday night: “Voix de Ville,” an original ever-evolving cabaret produced by Max Wellman featuring arrangements spanning from the 1920s to the 2020s, returns to Noce, 1326 Walnut St., Des Moines. The 7 p.m. show features a jazz orchestra under the direction of Jason Danielson alongside drag and ballet professionals. Tickets start at $36.

Dome for the Holidays

Saturday night: Drop by the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden, 909 Robert D. Ray Drive, Des Moines, starting at 5 p.m. for Dome for the Holidays. The conservatory and Gardeners Show House are illuminated for the holidays. The attraction features thousands of lights, a collection of blown-glass sculptures from Hot Glass, holiday music, a train display, a gnome hunt, refreshments and more. Tickets are $15 for those ages 13 and older, $9 for kids 2-12, and free for those younger. Various dates through Dec. 31.

7 Principals of Kwanzaa Des Moines Celebration

Saturday afternoon: Celebrate Kwanzaa from 3 to 7 p.m. during this community event at the Fort Des Moines Museum, 75 E. Army Post Road, Des Moines, presented by Concerned Citizens for Justice.

Andrew Walesch sings Tony Bennett

Saturday night: Celebrate all things Tony Bennett when singer Andrew Walesch takes over Noce, 1326 Walnut St., Des Moines, with shows at 7 and 9 p.m. The Phoenix-based singer is accompanied by his 10-piece orchestra through all-new custom-commissioned arrangements of Bennett’s biggest hits. Tickets start at $36.

Iowa Demon Hawks

Saturday night: The Iowa Demon Hawks indoor soccer team kicks off its season against the Muskegon Risers during a 7:35 p.m. match at Buccaneers Arena, 7201 Hickman Road, Urbandale. Tickets start at $20.

Not Quite New Year’s Eve with Not Quite Brothers

Saturday night: Celebrate the new year early when Not Quite Brothers performs at Wooly’s, 504 E. Locust St., Des Moines. The cover band from Central Iowa formed in 2018. Tickets for the 8 p.m. show start at $30.
