“Ella, First Lady of Song” starring Freda Payne at Meadow Brook Theatre

Tracing the 60-year career of jazz legend Ella Fitzgerald, “Ella, First Lady of Song” stars Detroit native and chart-topper Freda Payne. Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix in downtown Detroit

There are new tailgating and rooftop viewing spots for this year’s race, which features Motown legend Smokey Robinson as the Grand Marshal. Bark on Biddle in downtown Wyandotte

This three-day outdoor festival celebrates all things pooches with treats, toys, clothing and more. Bring your dog and shop a variety of pet-centric vendors, sample treats and watch the Ultimate Air Dogs Jumping Competition. There are also food trucks and cocktails for humans and live bands.
