This Jersey Shore town is one of Airbnb’s lowest priced places for fall travel
If you’re looking for someplace affordable to travel in New Jersey this fall, Airbnb has a suggestion.
It has identified one Jersey Shore town in its 10 destinations in the U.S. for the most savings for travel between September and November.
Somers Point, in eastern Atlantic County, topped the list of the most affordable destinations based on the biggest percentage decrease in price per night for Airbnb bookings when comparing June through August 2023 bookings and September through November 2023 bookings.
Airbnb declined to share price data for specific markets. But it said it found fall to be the most affordable time to rent an Airbnb.
“From smaller crowds to milder weather, traveling during the off-season has its perks,” Airbnb said in a press release.
Other cities that made the list, in no particular order, were: Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Norfolk, Virginia; Panama City, Florida; West Des Moines, Iowa; Bangor, Maine; Cheyenne, Wyoming; Spokane Valley, Washington; Erie, Pennsylvania; and Omaha, Nebraska.
Somers Point, which is at exit 29 off the Garden State Parkway, is about 10 miles southwest of Atlantic City. The 5.23 mile city borders Egg Harbor Township, Longport and Linwood in Atlantic County and Ocean City and Upper Township in Cape May County, according to Wikipedia.
It has a free beach, William Morrow Beach, with parking, outdoor showers, a playground and a fishing pier.
