This Taurus Season, It’s Time to Get Back to Basics
Taurus season is upon us, as the sun settles into the second sign of the zodiac from April 19 to May 20. For the coming four weeks, we all get to live like the zodiac’s Bull. So, saddle up! Life could get down and dirty.
Taurus is the first of the zodiac’s three earth signs, shifting our collective focus to ground-level matters. After four untamed weeks of Aries season, we need to cover the basics, like eating and sleeping at regular intervals and getting back on a budget. Boring stuff? Sure, but remember that this is an early spring sign. We’re still just prepping the soil, so that the seeds we plant will yield an abundant harvest later this year.
Process is the Bull’s middle name. In fact, Taurus is the zodiac sign astrologers have voted “Most Traditional.” The late Queen Elizabeth II, who was born on April 21, advised that, “It is often the small steps, not the giant leaps, that bring about the most lasting change.”
Like the late queen, devoted Taurus plays the “rock” for family and friends. Take football icon David Beckham, who is the ultimate off-duty soccer dad to kids Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper. Or Donatella, who has successfully reigned over the Versace house for decades, refusing to let brother Gianni’s tragic murder take down the family empire.
Need to figure out what’s going on in the ranks of your own realm? Call a family meeting. This is a solid season for sorting out wayward dynamics. As Taurus reminds us: When you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Pragmatic solutions and simple, clear-cut agreements will keep things ship-shape once the feel-good vibes dissipate.
Should tension arise, we can’t underscore this enough: Keep the raging Bull in check! The world can never unsee Taurus Teresa Giudice flipping a fully loaded dinner table on the first season of RHONJ. Let this be a cautionary tale to watch out for belligerent tempers that can flare at this time of year.
Fortunately, Taurus counts harmonious Venus as its planetary ruler. When red flags aren’t waving, this four-week solar cycle is the perfect time to relax and enjoy society and the arts. Some of music’s most legendary icons are Bulls, like Barbra Streisand, Adele, and Stevie Wonder. No surprise, Taurus is the sign that rules the throat. If you have a song in you, pick up a guitar or a karaoke mic, and let it out.
But as a rule, one should never, ever rush during Taurus season. This is the month to give the “slow” movement a try: slow eating, slow dancing, slow music, slow loving. Not easy in this fast-paced world but a guaranteed pathway to pleasure between April 19 and May 20.
As much as Taurus craves simplicity, it also loves to revel in luxury, although not necessarily the tasteful kind. Some of the most unconventional characters are born under this sign, including JoJo Siwa and Cher. Then, there are the timeless Taureans, like Penélope Cruz, Gigi Hadid, and Audrey Hepburn.
What matters most about what you’re wearing—or what you’re blaring on social media—is that it aligns with your personal beliefs. As Taurus Travis Scott said, “You can’t buy vision, and you can’t buy aesthetic.”
This is also a sign that’s rooted in its ethics, so ’tis the season to vocalize your values. You could wind up pushing the envelope, like 90-year-old country singer Willie Nelson, born April 29, a proud advocate of the LGBTQ community, who is also featured on two interludes of Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter album.
Don’t make the classic Taurus mistake, however, by stubbornly digging in your hooves and refusing to budge on an issue. People might not see eye to eye with you, but will they go skin to skin with you? Tactile Taurus lives for TLC. As springtime birds and bees start fluttering, this time of year wakes up libidos like Taurus Channing Tatum gyrating to “Pony.”
If you need another visual, pull up Taurus-on-Taurus exes Megan Fox and MGK in their twin-flame heyday, pawing each other across red carpets and inspiring Fox’s book of poems, Pretty Boys Are Poisonous. No eye rolls allowed! By the time May 20 comes around, there’s no telling what schmaltz you might be party to when this Venus-ruled sign sweeps you under its spell.
Whether you’re alone or with a plus-one, it’s perfectly acceptable to spend more time in bed during languid Taurus season. Get that leisure time in while you can. A month from now, social Gemini grabs the wheel, and you’ll have far too much FOMO to risk staying in.
