In a recent interview, top Telugu producer Naga Vamsi made some interesting comments about YouTube reviews. According to him, people watch YouTube reviews just for entertainment. The producer of Bheemla Nayak stated that the social media reviews should not be taken seriously.
Naga Vamsi said, “If people like something, they will watch the film by purchasing the ticket and vice versa. I believe these YouTube and Twitter (Now ‘X’) reviews cannot influence people. If those reviewers think they can influence people, then they are very much wrong. Hardly 1%-2% people might get influenced.”
The top producer added, “I think people watch these reviews just for fun and entertainment. They kind of enjoy the sarcastic nature of YouTube reviews. That’s it. Those reviews neither motivate viewers to watch a film nor discourage them from doing so. Instead, people are choosing whether to watch or skip a film based on its teaser and promotional material.”
“This is the way audiences are watching films post-Covid. They are having a pre-fixed notion about a film. If they decide to watch a movie, they will watch it no matter what the reviews are. They aren’t waiting for the reviews or reports,” stated Naga Vamsi.
