This Week in A&E: Fashion in Flight, ‘Untamed,’ and Saving the Grand

Fashion in Flight

Fashion in Flight, a local style event that shines a light on designers who hail from all over the Northwest, returns this November — and the organizations who put it on, Fashion District NW and the Museum of Flight, announced last week that tickets are now on sale. Grab them before they’re gone here.

‘Untamed: The Anatomy of Desire’

The Museum of Glass last week debuted its latest exhibit, “Untamed: The Anatomy of Desire.” The collection highlights works from Bri Chesler, an artist whom a release notes “blends various glass techniques with other media.” Featured works include pieces made during Chesler’s Museum of Glass residency in 2022 and outside designs made between 2018-23. The Grand Cinema Gets Big Donation

The Grand Cinema shared last month that the Murdock Trust contributed $400,000 in grant funding to the ongoing Save the Grand campaign. The grant includes $100,000 in matching funds, which entails that the next $100,000 in donations to the campaign will be doubled by the Murdock Trust. The Grand Cinema has so far raised $4 million for the campaign, which requires that the organization raise $5.5 million by June 2025 to purchase the Merlino Arts Center, which would give the cinema a permanent home. Learn more about the campaign here.
