Ticker Tape Home holds a class advantage as the lone graded stakes winner in a field of 10 female sprinters in the CA$135,000 Ontario Fashion Stakes (G3) Oct. 12 at Woodbine.
The Mark Casse trainee is coming off a win Aug. 24 in the seven-furlong Seaway Stakes (G3) and cuts back to six furlongs on Tapeta for the Ontario Fashion. The Live Oak Plantation-owned 4-year-old daughter of Medaglia d’Oro faces Owen’s Tour Guide and Beauty of the Sea , both coming off stakes wins but not at the graded level.
Tequesta Racing’s Owen’s Tour Guide, a 6-year-old Tourist mare, rallied late to win the restricted Zadracarta Stakes at Woodbine over the inner turf Sept. 21 for trainer Willie Armata. She had been 11th in the Seaway a start early.
“She is doing very well,” Armata said of the CA$5,000 purchase from the 2019 CTHS Canadian Premier Yearling Sale. “When she is in the entries, she likes to walk a little bit in the stall because she is excited. She knows, pre-race, that it is time to be all business.
“She is happy and so are we. It’s been a career year for her, and she deserves it. The plan will be to run her here and then one more time before the end of the year.”
Trainer Kevin Attard will send out three runners: Love to Shop , Tripolina , and Ro Town . Casse also starts Star Candy , who is coming off a Sept. 20 allowance optional claiming win.
