Ticket prices skyrocket for New Orleans Eras Tour concert after Taylor Swift releases TTPD

Fans without tickets to one (or more) of the three Eras Tour shows in New Orleans may now have to shell out more money than ever before to see Taylor Swift in the Crescent City.

Just hours after Swift made her return to the stage in Paris on the heels of the release of her newest album, The Tortured Poet’s Department, prices for tickets to the Crescent City shows skyrocketed, nearly tripling for all the October dates.  

As of Friday, the cheapest Eras Tour ticket prices on third-party vendor sites like Seat Geek, StubHub and Vivid Seats were $1,800. 

Compare that to January, when the most affordable tickets on StubHub were $1,000 each for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday shows. And in August, shortly after tickets officially went on sale, the cheapest tickets on StubHub were about $800.

For those contemplating floor seats, ticket prices are currently ranging from $4,000 to $10,000 or more.

Much of the added boost in ticket prices can be attributed to Swift’s debut of several TTPD songs on the tour setlist. 

Fans noticed a majority of her show was rearranged as songs from other albums were cut to make room for the new album, essentially creating a brand new tour experience for fans. 

Swift’s return the stage for the European leg of the tour also featured a collection of new outfits, which fans were quick celebrate on social media. 

The “Cruel Summer” stars appearance in New Orleans at the Caesars Superdome from Friday, October 25, through Sunday, October 27, after the shows were added for New Orleans, Miami and Indianapolis in an expansion of the record-breaking Eras Tour.

• Stick to reputable ticket brokers and avoid Craigslist and scalpers outside the Superdome.
• Check to see if the seller belongs to the National Association of Ticket Brokers.
• Look for a guarantee refund policy in the event of a cancellation.
• Use payment methods that come with buyer’s protection.
