Fashion
TikTok claims these will be the biggest trends of 2025 – but one is a crime against fashion
You will not be seeing me for a year if some of these pieces come back
After the end to another chaotic year of fashion, I’m glad to put some items behind me. New Year’s marks the start of a fresh year of fashion, and I’m already checking my 2025 dating horoscope.
Last year, TikTok provided us with incredible fashion inspo with our social media girlies and celebs showing us the perfect way to dress in 2024.
We’ve seen baggy fits, cherry red, and mixing gold and silver jewellery taking the online fashion world by storm, but what can we expect to see this year.
Well, buckle in because I’ve rounded up a list of TikTok’s 2025 fashion predictions, so you can stay on trend.
Pastels, especially pistachio and powder pink
It’s unsurprising that pale greens and pinks will be top on 2025’s list of trends with the success of Wicked this winter.
Elphaba and Glinda have clearly influenced the fashion community, as the TikTok style gurus have predicted that these are two colours everyone will be wearing next year.
According to fashion blogger Lara, we can expect to see pastels such as pistachio, powder pink, and even sea foam blue as dominant colours in 2025.
Lara also emphasised that green will be the most popular out of the three, with mixing green shades being something we will see soon.
She also noted that pastels will rule the makeup world too, with soft matt blues and pinks being shades to incorporate into your eye makeup routine.
Western style
Bella Hadid worshippers, this one is for you.
The cowgirl trend is coming back with full force in 2025. Lara told her followers that based on recent catwalk looks we’ve seen, we should be expecting fringes, cowboy boots and studs to make a come back.
We’ve had “coastal cowgirl” before, but next year, we’re looking at a more stereotypical western look. Fringed jackets and bags were popular in the 2010s, and we can expect to see them back in stores next year if Lara is correct in her predictions. Studded belts should be making an appearance too, as well as the ever-loved cowboy boot.
Skinny jeans
I can hear the millennials screaming with joy whilst us Gen-Zers are trying to figure out what we ever did wrong to deserve skinny jeans to make a resurgence.
After being so used to comfy, bagger trousers, the classic Joni jean is going to be at the top of everyone’s ASOS wish lists.
But fear not, TikToker @hannahlizzy_ said that a skinny faux leather trouser has the same effect whilst keeping the style youthful and less intimidating to baggy jean girlies.
Belted jackets
In 2025, we’re leaving baggy behind as we’ve seen with the jeans, and we’re focusing on a cinched waist.
A belted jacket can give the illusion of an hourglass figure whilst keeping you cosy, and paired with a skinny jean and knee high boots, it’s giving the ultimate horse-loving girly look.
Unsure, if I’ll be able to swap out my humungous North Face for this one, but it’s what TikTok is predicting will be popular next year so I may have to try.
Simple outfits with a statement belt
We’ve had western, but what about something for the minimalist fashionistas?
Well, according to Hannah, we can expect to see our favourite stars like Sophia Richie and Hailey Bieber wearing minimalist looks with a statement belt.
Hannah says A-listers will continue to focus on “old money” looks that exude elegance and class.
This is also a really simple way of staying on trend, and a belt can be used with numerous outfits so a great, classic, statement belt would be an ideal investment for 2025.
Furry shoes?
Okay, so this one left me perplexed but it’s been mentioned so I had to include it. We’re moving towards more statement shoes in 2025, particularly furry shoes.
It’s not for me, but for the ultimate fashion icons, I’m sure you’ll pull it off.
Square shoes
Wide feet girlies, rejoice! Pointy toes are out and square toes are in.
We might be losing our comfort with our jeans but 2025 is making up for it with its shoes.
You might not favour a square-toed mule but I’m sure once we see them all over social media, we’ll jump on the trend.
