Locks
NBA (0.5 Unit) Minnesota Timberwolves Team Total Over 100.5 (-110; Odds via Caesars): 9:00 PM CT on TNT
The Wolves are now a perfect 5-0 both straight up and ATS in these playoffs, having eclipsed this team total in all 5 games as well. So naturally, the oddsmakers installed Denver as a bigger favorite tonight than in Game 1, and the full-game total also adjusted downward a couple points which lowers this team total.
Frankly it’s a little insulting, and I’m sticking with this bet out of common sense and loyalty to the Wolves. While it wasn’t all that easy for Minnesota to get over this number on Saturday due to some notable scoring droughts, I think those issues are unlikely to repeat.
The second unit for the Wolves struggled early before finding themselves late, and that bench strength is the massive advantage Minnesota has to leverage against Denver in this series. It really helps to raise their scoring floor, and I think we see the Wolves get back over this team total again regardless of the game outcome.
Bonus Prop Picks (Degenerate Only; Odds via DraftKings)
Naz Reid Over 9.5 Points (-110)
Jaden McDaniels Over 14.5 Points+Rebounds+Assists (-110)
Justin Holliday Over 4.5 Points+Rebounds+Assists (-110)
Degenerates
NBA Indiana Pacers/NY Knicks First Half Over 106.5 (-110; Odds via Caesars): 6:30 PM CT on TNT
I think the Pacers have a slight advantage early on in this series, and right away to start this game. They should be able to inject their up-tempo style of play on a Knicks team that just went through a grueling and physical series with Philadelphia. If I’m Indiana, I’m playing with pace right away to try taking advantage of a tired Knicks squad that wants to play extremely slow.
If the Pacers are successful in that we should see plenty of early scoring like has been the case between them all season. The regular season saw these teams actually go 0-3 to the first half over, but that was against ridiculously high totals of 122.5, 128.5, and 122.5 again. They went over this particular number each time with 118.0 points on average, so I’ll take a shot that they find their way over such a discounted total.
Bonus Degenerate Props (Odds via DraftKing)
Miles McBride Over 9.5 Points (-110)
Ben Sheppard Over 7.5 Points+Rebounds+Assists (-110)
