Locks
NBA (0.5 Unit) Las Vegas Aces @ Minnesota Lynx +4.5 (-110; Odds via Caesars): 7:00 PM CT on NBATV
The Lynx are for real this season, boasting a 4-1 straight up and 5-0 ATS record with several impressive wins. It would get much more impressive if they knocked off the defending champs tonight, and I think they definitely have a chance. It’s all about a massively improved defense for the Lynx, which is allowing just 73.2 PPG in regulation this season. The Aces are still a scary team with elite players, but they have no depth and are dealing with injuries. That can give Minnesota a chance to keep this one tight or pull off the outright upset, putting some good vibes into Target Center for tomorrow.
Bonus Bet (0.5 Unit): Las Vegas Aces Team Total Under 87 (-110; Odds via Caesars)
The Aces are scoring at will, going over this total in every game so far on the year. But they haven’t seen Minnesota’s defense yet, and they haven’t played a road game yet either. The Lynx have already held the excellent Liberty offense to just 67 points at Target Center and the equally hot Sun offense to 83 in an overtime game on the road. I think this defense is legit and will show it tonight.
MLB (0.5 Unit) Toronto Blue Jays -1.5 @ Chicago White Sox (-105; Odds via Caesars): 6:40 PM CT on NBCS-CHI
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. After last night’s 7-2 Toronto win, the White Sox are up to 7 straight losses by multiple runs, with 11 of their past 12 games overall being multi-run losses. They’ve posted a minus-38 run differential across those 12 games, and an almost even-money price for it to happen again is too good to pass up.
It can be scary backing Toronto when Alek Manoah takes the mound, but he hasn’t been a disaster like in previous years. Not nearly the disaster that Chris Flexen has been for Chicago, with the righty posting a 6.49 ERA at home, and seeing 9 of his 11 starts this season turn into multi-run losses for the White Sox. It’s baseball so Chicago will get one of these eventually, but I’m riding the streak until it ends.
