Locks

MLB (0.75 Unit) Oakland Athletics Team Total Over 3.5 (-110; Odds via Caesars): 2:37 PM CT on SCHN

The Athletics are on fire, scoring like crazy and taking two straight from what might have been the hottest team in baseball. Now the Astros are heavily favored with the expectation that they aren’t getting swept in this series, which only serves to suppress Oakland’s team total down to this low number.

I’m not getting off this train yet, and I think the market move to influence this total creates a perfect opportunity. It will be tough against Hunter Brown who has had a good couple of months overall, but 3 of his 4 blowup games this season were on the road so this is where you want to target him. With another day game in Oakland where hitting conditions are far better, I’m expecting this red hot and under-the-radar offense to keep raking.

MLB (0.75 Unit) Detroit Tigers Team Total Over 3.5 (+115; Odds via Caesars): 5:40 PM CT on Bally Sports Detroit

If I’m not getting off the Oakland train yet, then I’m not getting off the Detroit one either. This is another great opportunity based on market movement and overall total to jump on the Tigers to keep their bats going at this insanely hot level. Today’s total is very low thanks to a couple of excellent starting pitchers, but that doesn’t mean runs won’t be scored.

Especially by the Tigers who seem to have Cleveland starter Tanner Bibee’s number. The Guardian righty has faced the Tigers twice this season, allowing 4 runs in both starts, and has elevated ERA and WHIP numbers at home. To get this kind of juicy plus-money return on Detroit continuing to do what they’ve done in 13 of their past 15 games is too good to pass up.
