MLB (1 Unit) Oakland Athletics/LA Angels Over 9 (-110; Odds via Caesars): 8:38 PM CT on NBCS-CA

The run production from Oakland came to a screeching halt yesterday, despite the team putting together 9 hits against a good pitching staff. I don’t think they’ll go 1-for-8 with RISP and leave 10 men on base against Angels pitching today though, so they’re in line for a return to high-scoring ways. Facing LA lefty Kenny Rosenberg puts the A’s in their preferred hitting split, and I think they take advantage.

They’ll need to with Ross Stripling returning from the injured list to get a start today. The Oakland righty has been bad, and I mean bad, this season. Stripling owns a 5.82 ERA on the year, opposing teams are hitting .325 against him, and he gets absolutely crushed by lefthanded bats which the Angels have plenty of.

This series has been pretty high-scoring as well, averaging 9.6 runs per game with the past 3 all sailing over tonight’s total. So with the wind blowing out at Angel Stadium, look for both teams to hit and score well tonight.

Degenerates

MLB Chris Sale Over 4.5 Hits Allowed (+110; Odds via DraftKings): 6:10 PM CT on Bally Sports SE

Chris Sale has been far and away the best pitcher for an Atlanta team devastated by injuries to their starting pitching. I think he runs into a little bit of trouble tonight though against a Mets lineup that has given him issues in his career. The Mets hitters who have faced Sale have a collective .322 average and .863 OPS against him, which is a stark contrast to his season-long numbers of a .202 average and .568 OPS. This prop total sits right on his exact average number of hits allowed per start this season, but with New York’s collective history, I’ll take a shot at this plus-money return that they’ll tag him for at least 5 hits tonight.

MLB Francisco Lindor Over 1.5 Total Bases (+135; Odds via DraftKings): 6:10 PM CT on Bally Sports SE

The Mets shortstop has been integral in the team’s recent surge, and I think he’ll be an important factor in tonight’s game. One of the reasons Chris Sale has such bad numbers against the Mets is because Lindor absolutely crushes him, with a .419 batting average and 1.018 OPS in 31 at-bats. Lindor has been raking lately, going over this prop in 3 straight games and 5 of his past 8, so I’ll gladly go plus-juice hunting again given his history.
