Locks

WNBA (0.5 Unit) Minnesota Lynx -3.5 @ Phoenix Mercury (-110; Odds via BetMGM): 9:00 PM CT on Bally Sports North

The Lynx are red hot, winning and covering all 5 games since the season started back up. It’s the offense that is particularly on fire, averaging 90.6 points per game in that stretch, and it should carry them here. Phoenix has had issues on both ends of the court that seem to alternate from game to game, so their inconsistency will make it tough to keep pace with Minnesota. The Lynx have beaten the Mercury in totally different ways this season, once dropping 95 on them and once holding them to 60 points. Their ability to win in a multitude of ways has me expecting another solid win and cover as they stay hot tonight.

MLB (0.5 Unit) Toronto Blue Jays Team Total Over 4.5 (+105; Odds via Caesars): 6:10 PM CT on NESN

The Blue Jays simply do not care about the rest of this season, it’s all an audition for their farm system so the young players are up swinging away. It makes them volatile, but also dangerous, especially against this particular Boston starter. Last time out, Brayan Bello returned to his usual self at Fenway after a couple of good starts, reminding us why he has a 5.54 ERA at home this season. One of those home starts was against Toronto where he gave up 7 runs, and he has career numbers of a .393 average and 1.079 OPS allowed to the Jays. With those kinds of struggles and a free-swinging lineup, expect Bello to have another rough outing as Toronto cashes this plus-money return.

MLB (0.5 Unit) San Diego Padres Team Total Over 4.5 (+105; Odds via Caesars): 6:45 PM CT on Bally Sports MW

After consecutive nights of dropping 7 runs on the Cardinals, some people might expect regression from the Padres bats. Well I’m not one of them, as the conditions that powered San Diego to those big nights are still in place for tonight’s game. Another righthanded starter for St Louis who has worse numbers at home takes the mound, which is exactly what they trotted out for the first two games of this series. Andre Pallante has a 4.85 ERA at home, which is 2 full points higher than on the road, and he’s benefitted from facing some weaker offenses in his home starts. The Padres are red hot, continuing to mash righties and have success on the road, both of which I see continuing tonight as they cash another plus-juice return here.
