NCAA Football (1 Unit) Temple @ Oklahoma -42 (-110; Odds via Caesars): 6:00 PM CT on ESPN

Count me in the camp of people who think Oklahoma is going to want to make a splash in their first game as a member of the SEC. Teams in this conference do not go easy on cupcake opponents, just look at last night’s action where Missouri rolled 51-0 while Arkansas had a 70-0 laugher. And the Sooners are no stranger to beating up on overmatched opponents under Brent Venables, with 73-0 and 66-17 routs to their name last season.

At this time of year it’s necessary to just lay the big number in games like this since the home team is usually on a mission. But this is also just a serious mismatch on the field, with highly-touted Jackson Arnold taking over at QB for Oklahoma to face a Temple squad that lost a ton of production from last season. The Owls are looking like one of the absolute worst FBS teams this season, and OU should roll them as they welcome themselves to their new conference.

Degenerates

WNBA Minnesota Lynx Team Total Over 88.5 (-120; Odds via Caesars): 6:30 PM CT on ION

This is right on the average of 88.3 PPG that the Lynx have put on Dallas in three meetings this season. So while it’s a fair number from that standpoint, what I’m looking at is how Minnesota has turned up the offense since coming back from break. The Lynx have averaged 90.3 PPG in the 6 games since the season picked back up, going over this total in 4 of those.

With Dallas playing next to no defense this season, ranked last in the league at 90.8 PPG allowed, the Lynx should be able to take advantage. In their own 5 post-Olympics games, the Wings have allowed 96.4 PPG so things are getting worse, and with Minnesota more prone to high-scoring games on the road, I see them clearing this number tonight.
