Locks

WNBA (0.5 Unit) Minnesota Lynx -4.5 @ Atlanta Dream (-115; Odds via BetMGM): 6:30 PM CT on NBA TV

I think this line might be as short as it is because Atlanta is fighting for the final playoff spot. But the Lynx are fighting for playoff positioning, trying to hold off Connecticut for the second seed, so this game matters to both squads. And that’s where I see Minnesota’s talent winning out, just as it has in every meeting with the Dream this season.

The Lynx have won by margins of 7, 13, and 13 points again when they’ve faced Atlanta, who has not been able to solve the elite Minnesota defense. With Aerial Powers sidelined for tonight, I don’t think Atlanta has the firepower to keep up with a hot Lynx offense, so expect them to win and cover here.

WNBA (0.5 Unit) Connecticut Sun/LA Sparks Under 158.5 (-110; Odds via Caesars): 9:00 PM CT on SportsNet LA

There have been three meetings between these teams on the year, and not one of them have even sniffed this total. The Sun and Sparks have played to an average of 141.7 points per game, yet the total was adjusted upwards after each of the first two games. It has ticked down now after the first game of this quasi-doubleheader on Sunday fell well short, but it’s just not enough and I have to go with the under.

In both of the higher-scoring meetings that almost got to 150 points, LA shot it surprisingly well against the elite Connecticut defense, but it still didn’t matter because of how slowly these teams play. The Sparks are too beat up to contend with a Sun defense that eventually clamps down, so look for this final meeting to mirror the others as a low-scoring affair.
