Locks

NCAA Football (0.75 Unit) Boise State/UNLV Over 64 (-110; Odds via Caesars): 9:30 PM CT on CBSSN

When these offenses get rolling, the points pile up in a real hurry, and that’s exactly what I expect tonight. This being an indoor game on the fast track of Allegiant Stadium will help two excellent ground games go wild, with Heisman frontrunner Ashton Jeanty finally testing a UNLV defense that never gets run on.

The Broncos can also throw it though, so I expect Boise to get points any way they want. And the Rebels have been an absolute machine offensively since handing the reins to Hajj-Malik Williams, averaging 45.8 PPG in his starts. These teams are a combined 9-4 to the over this season, and both are top-15 in the country for plus/minus to the total, so look for a full-on shootout in Vegas tonight.

NBA (0.5 Unit) Detroit Pistons/Cleveland Cavaliers Over 227.5 (-110; Odds via Fanduel): 6:30 PM CT on Fanduel Sports OH

I expected a new style out of the Cavaliers to be coming, and they showed it on Wednesday with a 136-point outburst in a high-possessions game. That seems to have been picked up on by the market, as this total has risen several points from the open. I still like it here though because I’m expecting limited defense out of the Pistons in this matchup, and I think they’ll be able to score just enough thanks to the up-tempo approach from Cleveland. If Wednesday’s game was any indication of how the Cavs will treat outmatched opponents, that kind of potential blowout creates a lot of room to get over this total and I think they do.

NBA (0.5 Unit) Golden State Warriors/Utah Jazz Over 232.5 (-110; Odds via Caesars): 8:30 PM CT on NBCS-BA

I’m basing this purely on what I saw from both teams offensively in their first game on Wednesday. Which was honestly surprising from both, so this feels like an opportunity to buy low on this total before books adjust to these teams. The Warriors putting up 140 points in their opener feels like a statement from Steve Kerr that they’re still a force, and if Steph Curry is good to go tonight I think they continue that against a bad Utah defense. The Jazz were scored on with ease by a Memphis team I expected to be more defensive-oriented, but also put up 124 points in that game. If they continue that type of play, along with continuing their tendency to crush overs at home that goes back to last season, then we’re in for a shootout in this game.
