LINCOLN CITY Ore. (KPTV) – A driver who fell asleep at the wheel crashed into a car and slid into a building on Wednesday morning.

At almost 7 a.m., Lincoln City officers were called out to a crash at 3026 Northeast Highway 101.

Police said Marvin Noe Tojin Lopez, 24, fell asleep at the wheel while driving home from an overnight job. Lopez had been driving his Honda Accord southbound and struck a Honda Pilot.

A dog that was stolen off a MAX train is now home safe, according to his owner Jonathan Orr.

The Pilot was hit so hard that the front driver’s side wheel was removed from the car, but the driver was not injured.

Following the impact, the Accord slid into a building. Lopez was taken to a hospital and ticketed for driving without a license, driving without insurance, careless driving and failing to wear a seatbelt.
