TNF open thread: Bills-Dolphins gambling lines and picks for tonight’s game

We’re onto Week 2 of the 2024 NFL season as Thursday Night Football features a crucial AFC East matchup between the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins.

The Bills and the Dolphins met in Week 17 last year where the division crown was on the line and Buffalo ended up taking home its fourth consecutive title. So, considering both teams enter tonight’s matchup 1-0, a lot is riding on the line for an early-season matchup as this game will likely have some playoff implications.

This is your place to discuss the game with other Las Vegas Raiders fans and any gambling picks you have as the lines below are provided by FanDuel Sportsbook.

Bills vs. Dolphins

  • Spread: MIA -2.5
  • O/U: 48.5
  • MIA ML: -144
  • BUF ML: +122

Holder’s picks: BUF +2.5, Over 48.5, BUF ML

I’m rolling with Josh Allen and the Bills tonight as I think they’re still the better team despite the offseason losses. Also, they’ve been able to focus on football over the last few days while the Dolphins have had to answer questions about Tyreek Hill’s situation, which I think is even more significant on a short week. As far as the total goes, I’m not a huge fan of either defense and both offenses are explosive, so we should see plenty of points tonight.

For the injury report, Buffalo has ruled out cornerback Taron Johnson (forearm) and defensive end Dawuane Smoot (toe) while defensive end Javon Solomon (oblique) is listed as doubtful, at the time of writing. Miami running back Raheem Mostert (chest) is out along with wide receiver Malik Washington (quadricep) and running back De’Von Achane (ankle) is a game-time decision. Also, defensive back Elijah Campbell (Achilles) is questionable.
