TNF open thread: Broncos-Saints gambling lines and picks for tonight’s game

Week 7 in the NFL gets started with the Sean Payton Bowl as the Denver Broncos take on the New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football.

Payton famously led the Saints to their first and only Super Bowl win back in 2010 (2009 season) and was the team’s head coach from 2006 to 2021 before taking the Broncos’ job a year ago. Tonight will be the first time he’s been back in New Orleans since stepping down, so emotions will certainly run high.

This is your place to discuss the game with other Las Vegas Raiders fans and any gambling picks you have as the lines below are provided by FanDuel Sportsbook.

Broncos vs. Saints

  • Spread: DEN -2.5
  • O/U: 37.5
  • DEN ML: -146
  • NO ML: +124

Holder’s picks: DEN -2.5, Over 37.5, DEN ML

During the first two weeks of the season, the Saints looked like the most dominant team in the NFL. However, a lot has changed since then as it’s been over a month since their last win and the team will be missing several key players tonight. Meanwhile, despite losing last Sunday, the Broncos have been trending in the opposite direction with wins in three of their last four games. So, it’s an easy pick for the spread and money line, and the total is just too low to take the under.

For the injury report, the Broncos have ruled offensive tackle Alex Palczewski (ankle) and cornerback Pat Surtain II (concussion) out while cornerback Damarri Mathis (ankle), outside linebacker Baron Browning (foot) and offensive tackle Mike McGlinchey (knee) are questionable. Meanwhile, the Saints will be without the following players; guard Cesar Ruiz (knee), linebacker Pete Werner (hamstring), wide receiver Rashid Shaheed (knee) and wide receiver Chris Olave (concussion). Quarterback Derek Carr (oblique) and tight end/quarterback/running back/special teamer Taysom Hill (rib) are doubtful.
