Today’s daily horoscope for Oct. 29, 2024
Pre-Halloween Plotting
Maybe in a perfect world you would be popular wherever you go, but there probably are even better scenarios, like the one where you care very little about your approval rating. This is freedom, and it’s attainable as we near the Scorpio new moon. Affirm your right to space and experimentation. You can be anyone you want to be.
SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Sometimes, even you don’t fully understand your own actions, but trust that there’s a reason for even your wildest impulses. Also, you don’t have to act on them to acknowledge and respect the reasons they are rooted in.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). Trust that beyond the discomfort of uncertainty, there’s a new direction waiting, one that holds possibilities the familiar can never offer. Also, you’ll be reminded that a degree of risk is necessary to good living.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Be willing to try new things in the name of self-appreciation. You’re going to need your own support. Could you give yourself a pep talk or journal on your own greatness? Find the exercise that’s fun to practice while solving a problem.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). If you can’t figure out how to help someone else, then help yourself. The reverse will also work. The answer to one problem could answer many. A perspective shift will start the ball rolling.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). When things don’t work, the first thing to check is the fit. It’s not about one person being wrong or the situation being wrong. It’s about moving and exploring to find the fit the way you’d turn a puzzle piece to figure out how it clicks in.
ARIES (March 21-April 19). You’re a vibrant, colorful sail — a cloth brimming with potential. You need the heavenly currents of wind to fill you and move you forward. A gust would be ideal, but even a gentle breeze will suffice.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20). Tradition matters. The past is never really behind us when everything we do is built on a historical foundation — even the parts long forgotten or rewritten form the ground we stand on now.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21). Seeing others doing what you feel you should be doing will stir up feelings. You’re making a Herculean effort, and you have an incredible network to tap into. Anyone you know could become an ally. If you need help, just ask.
CANCER (June 22-July 22). Escape is on your mind — whether it’s from a tiny annoyance or a deeper, more pervasive issue. The change you seek is within reach. Take a specific action and break free from the cycle. The moment is ripe for a fresh routine.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). An idea has already visited you quietly, dropping hints and nudges. Now it arrives as a bold, undeniable presence — an intruder that won’t leave until you pay attention.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Curiosity keeps you in your element, forging connections with ease. You’ll stay curious but also keep your cool, following your attractions, which can throw you off balance, heighten your nerves and cloud your judgment.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Your instincts will be strong. A situation will arise in which it’s better to act first and ask questions later. Stories also emerge from your encounters. They’ll be worth writing down or recording in some way.
TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (Oct. 29). The spirit of inspiration is madly in love with you this year. Sparks light up in you and won’t go out. You’ll soar higher with a coach by your side. More highlights: a financial risk that pays, an advancement in technical skill and know-how that gives you power, beautiful public events, sweet seats, and often being treated like royalty. Capricorn and Sagittarius adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 5, 23, 1, 11 and 18.
CELEBRITY PROFILES: Winona Ryder is riding high on the box office smash hit “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.” Like a Scorpio, Ryder has an internal homing device to guide her to captivating projects where she’s celebrated for her magnetism, mystery and deep charisma. Films like “Edward Scissorhands” and “Stranger Things” are a fine tonal match for one with natal Mercury and Venus also in Scorpio. The Pisces moon is her chart’s piece de resistance — an actor’s secret weapon.
