Top OSU basketball prospects in action in travel events this weekend
A number of Ohio State’s top men’s basketball recruiting targets will be in action this weekend, including several playing in central Ohio.
We are still working on a full list of key prospects that new head coach Jake Diebler and his staff will be tracking during events this spring and summer. Look for that next week in advance of the first leg of the Nike EYBL, which is scheduled for next weekend in Memphis.
The All-Ohio program is co-hosting the Buckeye Classic/Nike Cup tournament this weekend in the Columbus area. Games will be played at Fieldhouse USA, located on the north side of the Polaris Fashion Mall on the city’s north side, as well as at other venues.
The All-Ohio Red 17-U, 16-U and 15-U teams will play in this event.
Two 2025 players on the All-Ohio 17-U team have Ohio State offers in Richmond Heights guard Dorian Jones (ranked 37th) and Toledo Whitmer guard Antione West (ranked 176th).
The All-Ohio 16-U team includes several 2026 prospects as well as one of Ohio’s top 2027 prospects in guard Shawn Foster of Lima Senior.
The All-Ohio 15-U team features one of the state’s top 2028 prospects in guard Kam Mercer of Cincinnati Winton Woods.
Those three teams will all be in action twice between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. at Fieldhouse USA before heading down to Memphis for the Nike EYBL next weekend.

Garfield Heights 2026 guard Marcus Johnson (ranked 24th) nationally will be in action with his Indy Heat 16-U team at The Showdown in Noblesville, Ind. They will go on to the Nike EYBL next weekend in Memphis.
A number of key prospects will be in action this weekend at the Pittsburgh Jam Fest.
That group includes Huntington Prep 2025 guard Darryn Peterson (ranked third nationally) playing with his Phenom United 17-U team. Hudson (Ohio) Western Reserve Academy forward Niko Bundalo (ranked 31st) and Cleveland St. Ignatius forward Damon Friery will also be at the event with the Wildcat Select 17-U team. Peterson and Bundalo have Ohio State offers.
Also playing at that event is South Bend (Ind.) Washington 2026 shooting guard Steven Reynolds (ranked 50th) for the Phenom United 16-U team. Reynolds has reportedly been offered by Ohio State. Click here for the schedule for the Pittsburgh Jam Fest.
La Lumiere (Ind.) 2025 guard Jerry Easter II will play with Team Final at the Gym Rats event this weekend in Albany, N.Y. Easter, a Toledo native, has an Ohio State offer.
