Tracking Christmas Eve travel

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – As travelers hit the skies before Christmas, everyone’s hoping there are no major delays or disruptions, especially after Tuesday morning’s ground stop impacting flights on American.

WTOC has been out at the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport to learn the latest on holiday travel ahead of Christmas.

So far WTOC crews said travel has been pretty steady, and not too busy.

A lot of happy people were getting off the planes in Savannah, ready to meet with family.

A lot of the travelers we spoke to Tuesday are excited about Christmas, some have plans Christmas Eve for get-togethers and others are waiting for the big day Wednesday.

The energy was high Christmas Eve as many travelers said their flights went smoothly.

“I’m going all the way across the country to Seattle to see my girlfriend and a bunch of my friends. I work at River Street Sweets so I made sure to grab them a bunch of goodies,” said traveler, Erin Miller.

There have seen a good amount of delays throughout the day, a lot of them said “now at so and so time” or delayed, but you couldn’t tell based on the look on peoples faces coming through.

Stick with WTOC for the latest on holiday travel.
