CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – With the official start of summer days away, many people are in vacation mode.

This year’s popular destinations include the usual: Orlando, Vegas, Paris, and Hawaii, but what about the not-so-usual, like the edge of space.

One company is accepting reservations for a getaway like no other. If you’re ready to take your place in space history, check out what is being called the most accessible spaceflight experience available. Advertised as gentle and comfortable, it’s a trip to the edge of space with no G Force, no rockets, no fiery boosters hitched to your booty, no training required, and no strict health requirements.

Company officials say if you are medically fit to board an airliner, you are good to board the spaceship Neptune. It’s a pressurized capsule, lifted gently by a space balloon, the size of a football stadium.

It’s for everyday people, made possible by Space Perspective, the first and only carbon-neutral space flight experience company. According to its website, its mission is driven by a desire to share the transformative power of space travel with as many people as possible.

The pressurized capsule holds up to eight people and a pilot. Amenities include a space spa, fancy restroom, full bar, world-class meals, the largest windows of any spacecraft, plush safety seating, and more. It’s a six-hour flight providing the journey of a lifetime inside a luxury space lounge to the edge of space and back. You’ll ascend at a leisurely 12 MPH, a two-hour journey up to a peak altitude of 100,000 feet where you will float around for another 2 hours, and then a gentle 2-hour descent to a soft ocean landing, where a ship greets you.

The cost? $125,000 per seat.

A refundable (time limitations apply) $1000 deposit will hold your spot. Flights begin in 2025. See
