Traveling circus will bring elephants, trapeze artists, clowns and more to New Orleans area

Carden International Circus plans six performances Sept. 20-22 at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner, bringing an “all-new spectacular extreme circus” to the lakefront facility.

Tickets are on sale for the three-ring event starting at $9.99 for adults online for a limited time.

The production will be at 7 p.m. Sept. 20, noon, 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sept. 21 and 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Sept. 22 at the center on Williams Boulevard at Lake Pontchartrain.

This all-new production, led by ringmaster “Lucky” Malatsi, includes jumps and stunts by BMX and moto riders, the intensity of action in the Motorcycle Globe of Death, high-flying trapeze work and the thrill of action on the inch-wide high wire.

There’s also the Carden herd of Asian elephants, clowns and much more.

With talent from across the globe including Africa, Mongolia, Brazil, Mexico, Russia and the U.S., the acrobats, aerialists, dare-devils, clowns and more perform stunts, hijinks and airborne artistry.

Doors open one hour before show time for pre-show festivities including performer meet-and-greets, animal rides and interactive fun.
