Tricky Travel Early, Summer Heat Returns

4Warn Weather – A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for nearly all of Southeast Michigan until 9AM with visibility down to a quarter mile or less. Give yourself some extra time on the roads.

SUNRISE: 7:10 AM

The sun will help burn off the fog. If you are wondering how we could possibly have fog with dry weather on hand, it’s influenced from Lake Erie and Lake St. Clair. Onshore winds are warmer than the water off the coast. That warmer air mass moves over the cooler waters, cooling and saturating the airmass, which then gets pushed onshore leading to fog formation when winds are calm and skies are clear. Otherwise, plan for a summer-like afternoon with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid-80s.

SUNSET: 7:49 PM

High pressure will continue to provide dry weather today through the weekend as sunshine mixes with clouds from time to time. Highs will generally be in the 80s over the next week, with overnight lows in the 50s and 60s. Thursday (tomorrow) will be the warmest day of the week with highs in the upper 80s.
