Trinity Titans sweep Lady Lions in Minot

The Dickinson Trinity girls volleyball team spent two days in Minot with games against the Our Redeemer’s Christian School on Friday, October 18, and against Bishop Ryan on Saturday, October 19. The Titans lost to the Knights but were able to edge by the Lady Lions on Saturday 3-0.

The Lady Lions fell behind early in frame one but worked to close the gap halfway through. The Titans pulled ahead and took the first of three 25-18 over the hosts. Frame two was evenly matched from start to finish with the visiting team edging Bishop Ryan 25-22 while the third frame was 25-19 in the end for Dickinson Trinity.

The Lady Lions were led by Tochi Udekwe with nine kills and 12 digs. Anne Fricke had seven kills while Olivia Demars posted 18 digs with one ace. Cambrie Johannes had 15 assists while Haylee Schwan posted 11 assists, six digs and an ace for Bishop Ryan. Violet Demars had 11 digs and one ace as well in the effort.

Celia Christenson and Hali Henke each had ten kills for the Titans. Henke also posted three blocks while Christenson had two. Annabel Scheeler recorded 38 assists in the win to go with her 11 digs and one ace. Bella Kovash had nine digs and one assists while Madi Wegleitner added six kills in the game.

Bishop Ryan (2-5, 13-14) is currently sixth in region 6, district 12 while Our Redeemer’s (7-0, 21-8) tops that list. Drake-Anamoose (4-2, 12-10) is the top team in region 6, district 11 currently.

Dickinson Trinity (8-0, 23-6) sits atop the region 7 standings. Oak Grove (7-0, 16-10) is atop the region 1 standings while Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier is atop region 3, district 5 and Linton-HMB (5-0, 24-4) is the top region 3, district six team.

Region 5 is led by Central McLean (7-0, 24-3) and May-Port-CG (14-0, 19-10) is the top team in region 2.

Langdon/Edmore/Munich (7-0, 28-5) is the top team in region 4 while Trenton (7-0, 18-7) tops region 8, district 15 and Kenmare-Bowbells (10-0, 28-6) sits atop region 8, district 16 currently.

Bishop Ryan hosts the Kenmare-Bowbells Lady Honkers on Tuesday, October 22, with the 2024 NDHSAA Class B, Region 6 Volleyball Tournament to be held November 11 thru November 14 prior to the 2024 NDHSAA Class B Volleyball State Tournament November 21 thru November 23.
