Trio of Swimmers Set to Compete at World Aquatics Championships in Budapest – FIU Athletics
MIAMI – FIU swimmers Oumy Diop, Nicole Frank, and Imara-Bella Thorpe will proudly represent their countries this week at the World Aquatics Swimming Championships (SCM) in Budapest, Hungary.
Diop, representing Senegal and a 2024 Paris Olympian, is set to compete in the 100m butterfly on Friday, Dec. 13, at 4 a.m. ET in heat two. She will also take part in the 50m freestyle on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 4:01 a.m. ET in heat five.
Frank, hailing from Uruguay and a two-time Olympian, will swim in the 200m individual medley (IM) in the final heat on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 4:56 a.m. ET. She will also race in the 400m IM on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 3:02 a.m. ET in heat one.
Thorpe, a native of Nairobi, Kenya, will compete in the 50m butterfly on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 4:16 a.m. ET in heat three. The graduate student will also race in the 100m butterfly on Friday, Dec. 13.
