TSA shows off prohibited items ahead of busy travel season

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Ahead of a busy travel season running between Memorial Day and Labor Day, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) showcased some travel tips at Memphis International Airport on Wednesday.

Prohibited items can bog down travel times and lead to even more waiting at the airport, so TSA wants people to know what items are prohibited that they commonly find.

Some of the items showcased include a bowling pin, Tasers, ninja stars, blades and guns.

TSA expects to screen more than 2.8 million passengers nationwide daily this summer, which would be above pre-pandemic levels.

Traffic in Memphis is the highest it’s been in 16 years. TSA urges passengers arrive at the airport two hours before flight time.
