Turkish Airlines Is Upgrading Its Business Class Offering, But Keeping All Our Favorite Perks
Turkish Airlines is perhaps best known for its extensive network which flies to more countries than any other airline and its beloved “Flying Chefs,” who serve some of the best meals in the air. Their business class seats are particularly popular on overnight flights from the U.S. and they fly multiple flights a day from major U.S. hubs. Now there is even better news for Turkish Airlines fans en route to Türkiye and beyond. The airline has just announced that it is upgrading its business class offerings; its new, state-of-the-art business class suite was unveiled at the Farnborough International Airshow 2024 in Hampshire, UK over the summer.
While Turkish Airlines has always had a terrific business class offering, the new Crystal Business Class suite puts a priority on privacy and comfort. It is the first time that Turkish Airlines’ passengers will be able to enjoy an adjustable suite door and privacy panel for a chance to experience in-flight privacy. It is especially pleasant to close those privacy panels on overnight and long-haul trips. These new seats will also feature a large 23-inch seat width and increased footwell space with direct aisle access for all guests. (In the past, even though all business class seats were lie flat, some passengers wound up with a middle seat.) And in an effort to make flying a more tranquil experience, these new suites feature lighter and warmer colors, marble-style tables and rose gold finishes. Turkish Airline’s new business class seats are upholstered in elements of soft leathers and fabrics all sourced from Türkiye. This transformation will take place over the next few years. These new seats, set to be featured on the carrier’s transcontinental flights, will be gradually installed on the airline’s Airbus A350s on order, as well as planned to be retrofitted on its fleet of Boeing 777 aircraft.
Travelers can still expect to find some of the same, existing perks, including adjustable ambient and reading lights, universal and Type C power outlets, a wireless charger, a noise cancelling audio jack, an adjustable mirror, a closed stowage ergonomic seat cushion and a 22-inch IFE screen.
And of course, you will continue to enjoy some of the best airline food graciously served by Turkish Airlines’s Flying Chefs. Multi-course appetizer that feature Turkish and Mediterranean specialties usually start the meal; main courses are particularly tasty and an abundant dessert trolley marks the end of service. You can also choose from a very extensive drinks menu that includes several wellness options.
