Twenty-five air survaillance manufacturing jobs coming to Pasquotank County in expansion

RALEIGH, N.C. (WITN) – An air surveillance facility in Elizabeth City is opening twenty-five new positions in a new expansion announced today.

TCOM will be adding the jobs, according to Gov. Roy Cooper.

The company makes tethered aerostats and unmanned aerial systems used by the United States and foreign governments.

The new positions will include assemblers, engineers, technicians, logistics specialists, mechanics, quality inspectors, and other personnel, according to a news release. Wages will vary based on position, but TCOM says their annual wage rate of $49,894 exceeds the county average of $44,457.

“It’s companies like TCOM that reinforce our reputation as the most military-friendly state in the country,” said Cooper. “They know that we have an experienced, skilled workforce in Pasquotank County and a strong relationship to the military that makes North Carolina a great place to grow an innovative aerospace company.”

According the Governor’s Office, this expansion came from a $763,000 investment. The planned additions will include building a 300,000 square-foot lab space for training, engineering, and additional operations.

“Expanding our operations in Elizabeth City is part of our growth strategy and continues our investment in Elizabeth City and the surrounding communities we support,” said Ron Bendlin, president & CEO of TCOM.
