Tyrannosaurus Flex closing in Stow; gym owner cites high rent, purchase costs
Tyrannosaurus Flex Fitness LLC in Stow will close at the end of June, according to a Facebook post from business owner Kellie Dziemianzuk.
In the Monday post, Dziemianzuk cited high rent and purchase costs for the gym at 3073 Graham Road.
“I have tried diligently to secure a location for Tyrannosaurus Flex Fitness,” Dziemianzuk wrote.
Dziemianzuk was not immediately available for comment on Tuesday.
Until Tyrannosaurus Flex’s last class on June 28, the gym will host drum, strength, cardio, dance, and Zumbini classes, Dziemianzuk shared in her post.
In 2020, Dziemianzuk started teaching fitness lessons online, then in fields and parking lots, before moving into the Graham Road space in 2021, the Beacon Journal previously reported.
Change agent: Kellie Dziemianzuk supports her community through cardio drumming
At Tyrannosaurus Flex, Dziemianzuk and her team have led full-body workouts that include participants drumming with drumsticks, yoga balls and buckets, as well as using bungee cords and buoyant “kangaroo shoes.”
The gym’s focus on community included drives for baby formula and winter clothes, cancer support groups and courses for participants with special needs.
In her Monday Facebook post, Dziemianzuk said she appreciates the people who have worked out at and have been associated with the gym, who she said have provided “unconditional love, support and friendship.”
She also thanked her staff, writing: “I am forever grateful and beyond blessed with the BEST staff on the planet. You all know you have my heart and I can’t thank you enough. You 9 ladies are my angels!”
