UCOR to host jobs workshop in Scarboro focusing on career opportunities in Oak Ridge
Community members interested in exploring career opportunities on the Oak Ridge Reservation are invited to attend the UCOR Scarboro Workforce Workshop from 5-7 p.m. on Nov. 7.
UCOR is the U.S. Department of Energy Oak Ridge Office of Environmental Management’s lead environmental cleanup contractor.
The workshop will be in the Scarboro Community Center, 148 Carver Ave. in Oak Ridge. Attendees can learn about current job openings with UCOR and its teaming partners and gather information about pathways to future careers (community colleges, trade unions, etc.) as well as wrap-around services (training referrals, career counseling, etc.), according to a news release.
Representatives from UCOR’s human resources, workforce development, and small business offices will be available to review resumes and talk with participants. Representatives from UCOR teaming partners, multiple trades unions, and local community colleges will also be on hand. The American Job Center will provide information and assistance for wraparound services. In addition, the NAACP-Anderson County will provide information on its workforce development efforts and educational activities.
