Underdog Fantasy MLB Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – July 28

Austin Riley – Higher than 1.5 Total Bases

Riley hasn’t been all that hot lately. In fact, he has just three total bases in this series with the Mets. However, I think Sunday proves to be his breakout. Not only has he been getting solid contact in this series with little to show, but he also has a pitching matchup that favors him. David Peterson has faced Riley 23 times with Riley going 8-for-21 (.381). Three of those eight hits are doubles, which could mean that Riley is just one swing away from this projection at all times.

Jorge Soler – Higher than 1.5 Total Bases

Soler doesn’t quite have the history against his opponent that Riley does, but I do like what I’ve seen in the small sample. He is 2-for-6 against Austin Gomber with both of those hits being home runs. He’s also been quite a bit hotter than Riley. He has beat this projection in three of his last four games and has 13 total bases over that span. Playing at the elevation of Coors Field won’t hurt at all either.

Ketel Marte – Higher than 1.5 Total Bases

Katel Marte is white hot right now. Not only has he gpone above this projection in each of his last five games, but that’s because he has an extra-base hit in every single one of them. Four of those games included a home run. He’s taken Sunday starter Mitch Keller long before too. He’s 4-for-9 against him career with a .778 slugging percentage.
