United Airlines Denver flight announced, enhancing eastbound travel options from Redding
REDDING, Calif. — For the first time in several years, the Redding Chamber of Commerce hosted a State of the City luncheon at the Civic Auditorium. The floor of the auditorium was packed with representatives from local businesses who heard and saw what’s been happening in Redding over the last year, along with a look at projects planned for the near future.
Mayor Tanessa Audette chose “United Redding” as the theme, realizing there are economic and political obstacles, but common agreement on the city’s institutions and activities. She also announced that the long-awaited United Airlines flight to Denver is coming next summer.
“We lost one flight, but we’re gaining another. United now will have a Denver flight, so we’ll have an eastbound flight. If you have to go eastbound, you won’t have to go to San Francisco or LA to go east… Now we can have better flights and have a Denver hub to get anywhere we need to go.”
There were several projects either already underway or in the planning stages.
