BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Professional wrestlers will take to the ring Saturday for an action-packed event.

It’s Fight to Unite 3, which is a collaboration between the United Way of the Brazos Valley and Lions Pride Sports.

“This is a really fun event to come and watch some cool wrestling but also for a cause,” Peggie Ondrasek said.

Ondrasek is the United Way’s president and CEO and said the funds will help support the organization’s 28 partner agencies.

One is the Boys & Girls Club of the Brazos Valley, the host location. Its chief executive officer, Rhonda Watson, said she’s excited to have more community members in the facility.

“The Boys & Girls Club wants to be seen as a community resource,” Watson said.

Along with hosting, the Boys & Girls Club will have concessions. The proceeds will benefit programs like summer camps.

“Proceeds will benefit supplies and materials for summer activities,” Watson said. “We are taking four field trips so it will support field trips and just general operations. It’s helping boys and girls ages 6 to 18, who are here for the summer, have a safe, fun place to be.”

The average daily attendance is expected to grow to about 175 kids per day, according to Watson.
