UPDATE: Scene secure in business-heavy part of Normal

UPDATE 12:20 P.M. – Police say the scene is secure and no longer active. There is no threat to the public and police say no one was harmed.

Normal Police and other local law enforcement agencies are asking the public to avoid the area of Susan and Parkway Plaza drives for an “active situation.”

Police ask the public to avoid nearby businesses as well.
